Public Notice of Evaluation Visits for Reaffirmation of Accreditation

Princeton Theological Seminary (PTS) has been engaged in a self-study process since 2017 evaluating all aspects of the institution and identifying areas for improvement. The process will culminate in on-site visits by the two accrediting bodies in fall 2019.

PTS is hosting a comprehensive evaluation visit for reaffirmation of accreditation by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) on October 27-30, 2019 and by the Commission on Accrediting of the Association of Theological Schools (ATS) on November 11-14, 2019. The purpose of each visit is to verify that the school meets all applicable standards: MSCHE Standards for Accreditation and Requirements of Affiliation and the ATS Commission Standards of Accreditation. Comments regarding how well the school meets those standards and/or generally demonstrates educational quality may be sent to the ATS Director of Commission Information Services (accrediting@ats.edu) at least two weeks before the visit. Comments may also or instead be sent in writing to Dr. Shawn Oliver, Senior Associate Academic Dean and Co-Chair of the Self-Study Process, at shawn.oliver@ptsem.edu. You can also mail your comments to Attn: Shawn Oliver, Princeton Theological Seminary, 64 Mercer Street, Princeton, NJ 08542-0803. All comments will be shared with the onsite evaluation committees.

Educating faithful Christian leaders.

“One of the biggest lessons I learned was how to be charitable to views other than my own. Christian charity was shown to me, not just in the readings for class, but from the professors, and the Seminary community.”
