This week: Learn More About Field Education

Field education connects the classroom and the church, integrating academic learning with the practice of ministry. In supervised ministry settings in churches, hospitals, and social service agencies in rural, urban, suburban, and international settings, students practice acts of ministry and reflect on those actions. They test their call, gain self-awareness, develop relationships, and acquire pastoral and leadership skills. The Office of Field Education and Vocational Placement is committed to providing cross-cultural, diverse, racial-ethnic, and international sites for ministry.

Join Rev. Catherine Davis, director of vocational and field placement, and Rev. Jennie Salas, associate director of vocational and field placement, to learn more about importance of field education at Princeton Theological Seminary.

“At Princeton, we had precept groups—we’d engage text and debate. That gave me confidence to have those conversations anywhere.”
