Donald Macleod/Short Hills Community Congregational Church Preaching Lecture

Anna Carter Florence will present the 2019 Donald MacLeod/Short Hills Community Congregational Church Preaching Lecture at 5:00 p.m. in the Main Lounge of the Mackay Campus Center at Princeton Theological Seminary. The title of her lecture is “Scripts in the Scripture for Bent Double Days.” A reception will follow in the same location.

Anna Carter Florence, MDiv ’88, PhD ’00, is the Peter Marshall Professor of Preaching at Columbia Theological Seminary. Her research focuses on testimony, pedagogies of preaching, the creative process by which communities engage and embody scripture, and how other fields—particularly poetry and theater—offer models for prophetic speech. Florence earned her MDiv and PhD in homiletics.
