Daily Worship

Worship services in Miller Chapel are designed specifically for the seminary community. Services are held daily at 11:30 a.m. when classes are in session. The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper is celebrated every Friday.

  Additional Worship Opportunities

In addition to daily and weekly worship services, special services are held throughout the year and are sponsored by both the chapel and student organizations. If your organization is planning a worship service and would like the assistance of the chapel office or would like to request use of either the Gambrell Room or Miller Chapel, contact Teresa Heyer. Prior to putting in a building request form, please read the building use policies.

Regular Sunday services are not held on the seminary campus. Our chapel services function as a domestic gathering for our community and are not meant to supplant engagement with the life of the church through ministry and Sunday worship with local congregations.

Music in Worship

The Seminary Chapel Choir offers their musical gift during worship services throughout the school year. If you are interested in being a part of the choir please contact Martin Tel. Students with dance and/or other musical talent are also encouraged to offer their talents during worship. Please contact Martin if you are interested. Visit the Music page more information about the seminary choirs.

If you are leading worship in an upcoming service…

You are required to meet with Martin Tel and Jan Ammon to plan your service. Plan on a thirty-minute meeting. Come prepared with a scripture text and your ideas for the service, including music. Please schedule this meeting at least two weeks prior to your chapel date. Contact Teresa Heyer to set up an appointment, 609.497.7890.

In planning worship, please be mindful of the church season. We encourage you to use the Revised Common Lectionary, but it is not mandatory. Both the weekly and daily lectionary can be found in the PC(USA) Book of Common Worship.

You are welcome to use music from any tradition, but please be aware that if you want music and/or lyrics printed, you must follow copyright guidelines .

Your worship information (songs, scripture, liturgy) is due in the chapel office one week prior to your chapel date, whether or not a worship bulletin is being printed.

Recording

All student worship leaders will receive a link to a complementary mp3 download of their service. Worship services are occasionally recorded on film for the creation of videos produced for and by the Seminary. If you are leading worship and need your service recorded for any particular reason, contact Media Services. Worship services are not to be recorded without the permission of all those participating in the service. Please contact the Chapel Office to acquire the appropriate release forms.

Sample Bulletins (as PDFs)

These services were chosen at random to represent the diversity of worship styles and leadership within the Seminary community.

Please note that none of the music with copyright in the attached bulletins can reproduced without the proper permissions, granted to your church or organization. If you are a member of the Seminary Community and wish to use the music for an upcoming service here on campus, contact the Chapel Office to obtain licensing information.
