Join the Conversation
Drawing primarily on Asian contributions to the Christian church, the institute will pursue answers to fundamental questions:
- How does wisdom speak to an individual facing life’s challenges?
- How can we use creative methods to understand wisdom?
- What does wisdom say to us about the rules of life?
Our group of dynamic presenters and leaders promises to encourage provocative and stimulating conversation. Plenary lectures, practical workshops, and meaningful worship will enhance your understanding of wisdom and enrich your ministry. Participants are eligible for Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
Workshop topics include:
- Pluralistic and post-colonial approaches to mission theologies
- Islam in Asia
- Creative expressions that encourage theological discourse
- Pastoral care and counseling as agents of transformation
The 2013 IOT will be held concurrently with the Institute of Worship (IOW) and the Engle Institute of Preaching. The IOT and IOW workshop schedules will allow for cross-registration. The School of Christian Vocation and Mission is also proud to partner with the Presbyterian Association of Musicians to present a faculty that will help integrate learning with the practices of worship.
