| Katharine Doob Sakenfeld is Princeton Seminary’s William Albright Eisenberger Professor of Old Testament. She served as the 2007 president of the Society of Biblical Literature. She earned an M.A. in sociology from the University of Rhode Island, a B.D. from Harvard Divinity School, and a Ph.D. from Harvard University, and was awarded an honorary S.T.D. from Hastings College in 1995. Her interests include the Old Testament narratives of the pre-monarchic period, and feminist and cultural hermeneutics. In 2008 she received the Distinguished Alumni/ae Award from her undergraduate alma mater, The College of Wooster. An ordained Presbyterian minister, she was moderator of the Presbytery of New Brunswick in 2001 and is serving her fourth term on the Committee on Preparation for Ministry. |
