David Bruner is a PhD candidate at Princeton Theological Seminary. Educated at Yale University (BA) and Princeton Seminary (MDiv), he has taught at Princeton Seminary, Princeton University, Eastern University, and Luther Seminary. His dissertation explores Eberhard Jüngel’s account of truth and its relationship to the doctrine of the Trinity, against the background of distinctively modern questions about epistemology, metaphysics, and the doctrine of God. He is an ordained minister in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), and served four years as a parish pastor. He continues to be active as a teacher and preacher in congregational contexts.

“One of the biggest lessons I learned was how to be charitable to views other than my own. Christian charity was shown to me, not just in the readings for class, but from the professors, and the Seminary community.”
