Alex Kato started the homiletics PhD program at Princeton Theological Seminary in 2015 after earning his MDiv at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and his BA in Communication Studies at Seattle Pacific University. Before embarking into theological education, Alex was a high school pastor in his hometown, Seattle, WA, and he hopes to continue serving both the academy and the congregation throughout his life. His current research examines the ways North American seminaries teach preaching, especially against the backdrop of world homiletics. He, his wife, and his son are members of Stone Hill Church in Princeton, NJ.
