The Institute of Theology is pleased to welcome the

The Association for Reformed & Liturgical Worship (AR&LW) gathers members of the Reformed community committed to liturgical worship and sacramental renewal.  Drawn from a broad spectrum of denominations, its members enjoy annual convocations, a semi-annual newsletter, and a website (arlw.org). In addition to the AR&LW 2012 Convocation, participants may also register for programs in the Institute of Theology on Monday and Tuesday).

Leader Information

Fred R. Anderson   Pastor of the Madison Ave. Presbyterian Church in New York City, author of many metrical psalm texts, writer in liturgical theology and a well-known preacher.  PC(USA)

George Hunsinger   Professor of Systematic Theology at Princeton Seminary, and author of major works on Barth, with broad interest in Reformed theology, and advocate of a “generous orthodoxy.”  PC(USA)

Gail Ramshaw   Assistant Professor of Religion at LaSalle Univ. and author of several works on liturgy, with special interest in liturgical language and world trees of life.  ELCA

Betty Lynn Schwab, author of resources for congregational worship, is an ordained minister in the United Church of Canada. Recently retired as Minister of Worship and Spirituality for her denomination, she continues to serve the United Church as a consultant.

Martin Tel  Director of Music at Princeton Seminary, teaches courses on musical resources and philosophy, with special interest in congregational singing.  PC(USA)

John Weaver   Organist Emeritus at Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church, renowned concert organist, and major contributor in church musical leadership. PC(USA)

Patrick J. Willson, renowned preacher and teacher, now retired, most recently served as Interim Minister and Head of Staff at the National Presbyterian Church in Washington, D. C. Serving as the Engle Institute of Preaching's Preacher/Pastor-in-Residence PC(USA)

There are several registration options, and methods to register. First, please read the Registration and Cancellation Policy.

AR&LW Registration with on-campus lodging is US$300. This includes the full program (above), 2 nights lodging in Alexander Hall, Wednesday dinner, Thursday breakfast/lunch/banquet dinner, Friday breakfast/lunch.

AR&LW Registration without on-campus lodging is US$200. Includes full program, Wednesday dinner, Thursday lunch/banquet dinner, and Friday lunch.

There is a room block reserved at the Hyatt Place, Princeton, NJ at a rate of US$129/night.

The Association for Reformed & Liturgical Worship is a voluntary association of individuals and congregations that covenants, with God’s help, to cultivate, practice, and promote worship that offers a foretaste of the fullness of God’s Reign. This worship is Trinitarian, ecumenical, incarnational, and sacramental; it is both universal and local and sends the church to live its liturgy, bringing God’s justice and grace to all of God’s creation.
