Young Children and Worship is a program that presents a
joyful way for children to worship God through a unique
storytelling format and multi-sensory materials. At this two-day
training, participants will learn, through demonstration and
hands-on activities, how to create a worship environment that
cultivates the imagination and invites children to fall in love
with God. This seminar is offered in partnership with Young
Children and Worship and Kingston United Methodist Church.
The Young Children and Worship workshop will:
- Show you how to lead and administer this time of worship with
children, ages three to seven, and up to sixth grade.
- Show you how to prepare a special worship environment, where
both children and adults sense the awe and wonder of God.
- Teach you how to tell the biblical stories and parables,
using wooden figures and other materials in a unique storytelling
- Invite you into the joy of worshiping with Children.

Kaye Edwards is an ordained minister with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada. She has spent her entire professional life working with families and children, many with special needs. Kaye began working with Young Children and Worship in 1996. She attended two of Dr. Sonja Stewart's trainings in Holland, Michigan. During the 16 years that she served as the Director of Family and Children's Ministries for The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Denomination, Kaye worked to spread this amazing program to churches all across the United States. Kaye is now retired and has joined the work of Olivia Stewart Robertson, serving as the Co-Director of Children & Worship.
