Spring Choral Concert performed by Princeton Theological
Seminary's Cantate Domino and Jubilate Deo Choirs with organ
and orchestra in celebration of Easter, Ascension, and Pentecost
—April 15 concert will feature the performance
of Bach's Easter Cantata Christ lag in Todesbanden (Christ
lay in the bonds of death) with orchestra and the Princeton
Baroque Soloists—
Princeton, NJ, April 11, 2005– Most years the Seminary
is able to celebrate Easter as part of its spring concert,
but the feasts of Ascension and Pentecost never fall within
the academic calendar. This year, for at least one evening,
the spring concert will suspend the observance of the liturgical
calendar and fast-forward through these feasts as well.
The concert will take place at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April
15 in Miller Chapel on the Seminary campus.
A highlight of the concert will be the performance of Bach's
Easter Cantata Christ lag in Todesbanden (Christ lay in
the bonds of death) with orchestra and the Princeton Baroque
Soloists. From Bach the program makes its way through many
musical styles right up to the gospel sounds of Moses Hogan.
Come to enjoy this musical excursion through the Christian
feasts of spring.
The concert is open to the public free of charge. For more
information, call the Chapel Office at 609-497-7890.
