The Koinonia Forum is the annual Ph.D. and graduate student conference at Princeton Theological Seminary. This student-led conference seeks to foster an environment of collegiality, rigorous and creative thinking, and conversation across disciplines and institutions. It offers graduate students a space to share their research, engage new ideas, and build scholarly community with one another.
We invite paper proposals for our upcoming conference exploring the relationships between religion, memory, and remembrance. Possible questions include, but are not limited to: How does religion seek to memorialize or make use of memory? What rituals of remembrance nurture our lives? How do narratives of the past create and sustain religious identities? How does memory shape spaces of commonality and belonging? What demands does memory make of us? How does remembrance help us move forward? What is worth re-membering, and what is worth forgetting? Is the past a place of imagination? How does remembrance reinforce or challenge our ethical and moral values? What is the relationship between place and memory?

We welcome submissions from any discipline, so long as it addresses religion or religious communities in some way.
Please submit a 150–200-word proposal to koinonia.forum@ptsem.edu by December 28, 2026.
Applicants will be notified by January 26, 2027.
