Princeton Theological Seminary began its 199th academic year with Academic Convocation on Sunday, September 19, in Miller Chapel. Dr. Richard F. Young, the Seminary’s Elmer K. and Ethel R. Timby Associate Professor of the History of the Religions, gave the convocation address. Classes began on Monday, September 20, when the Sacrament of Holy Communion was celebrated. President Iain Torrance officiated, and Dr. Michael Brothers, assistant professor of speech communication in ministry, preached.
This year’s 113 entering Master of Divinity degree students were chosen from a pool of 350 applicants. The entering class includes eighteen international students from Canada, Egypt, Germany, South Korea, India, Malaysia, Myanmar, Switzerland, France, and Latvia. It also includes three students who are doctoral research scholars. They are from Botswana, Germany, and Russia.
