Anaida Pascual Moran is Professor of Education in the Department of Graduate Studies at the University of Puerto Rico in Río Piedras. She has a Ph.D. in Education with concentration in Curriculum and Teaching. Some of her researches include education and action for human rights, democracy and peace promotion intertwines intelligences, talents and creativity, adopting differentiated pedagogies and liberating, project development and systematization of experiences. She was one of the founding member and first coordinator of the UNESCO Chair in Education for Peace at the University of Puerto Rico and the Project Educating for Freedom of the Puerto Rico Section of Amnesty International. Dr. Pascual Moran has been a visiting professor at several institutions in the U.S. and Latin America. It is the author of the books Acción civil no violenta: Fuerza de espíritu, fuerza de paz (Nonviolent Civil Action: Strength of mind, strength of peace) (2003), Tengo derechos!: Serie infantil y juvenil (I have rights!: Children and Young Adult Series) (1993), she is co-editor with Anita Yudkin Suliveres of Educando para la paz en y desde la universidad: Antología conmemorativa de una década (Educating for peace within and from the university: a decade memorial Anthology) (2008) and co-author of the chapter Pensando the work of education in human rights and a culture of peace in Puerto Rico (2009).
