Immigration Colloquium: Advocacy and Best Practices

Friday, May 9, 2008
Beginning with 10:30 a.m. registration. The event will end at 2:00 p.m.
Location: Pinceton Theological Seminary, Mackay Campus Center

This colloquium is a conversation concerning the Church and immigration. There will be a forum led by leaders on issues spanning from advocacy to practical ministry steps. We will respond to questions like:

  • What models of advocacy and practical ministries exist?
  • What can my local congregation contribute to the immigration dialogue?
  • What are different national organizations doing in regards to advocacy and education?
  • What is the status of the immigration debate on the national landscape?

The Immigration Colloquium will be conducted in English.

Panelists Include:
The Rev. Luis Cortés Jr, President, Esperanza
Ms. Julia Thorne, Esq., Immigration Counsel, PCUSA
Ms. Patty Kupfer, Campaign Coordinator Christians for Comprehensive Immigration Reform/Sojourners
Ms. Belinda Passafaro, New Sanctuary Movement

Audience: Pastors, seminarians, students, community leaders, and all who care about immigration

Registration Fee:
$15 (This will include a light lunch).

As a professional and graduate school of the PC(USA), Princeton Theological Seminary is pleased to announce another immigration program, sponsored by the Presbytery of New Brunswick, which also features Ms. Julia Thorne.
