Preacher: The Reverend Canon Professor Marilyn
McCord Adams (Class of 1985), the Distinguished Research Professor of
Philosophy at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill
Presiding: Iain Torrance, president and professor of patristics
Adams is a distinguished scholar and author of numerous books. Prior
to her position at the University of North Carolina, she taught at the
University of California, Los Angeles, Yale University, and Oxford
University, and as canon at Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford. Even as she
teaches and writes on topics such as philosophy and religion, medieval
and early modern philosophy and metaphysics, as well as the problem of
evil for the mind, her book of prayers for adults nurture spirit as
well.
