Daniels Fellowships support a student' social justice project outside of a normal course of study through participation in social movements concerned with important human needs. The Fellowship supports work for a summer, a semester, a full year, or a combination of these periods. Daniels Fellowships are open to any student enrolled at an ATS accredited school who will not have graduated before the project is completed. It is intended to set students free from academic life to engage directly in a project in an area of social concern. The award usually does not exceed $8,000.

To help define, encourage, and support emerging forms of lay and ordained ministries that seek to answer the demands of the 21st century, the Society provides grants of up to $5,000 to strengthen the evangelical witness of the Episcopal Church. The Society especially encourages new initiatives and methodologies that proclaim the Gospel and present the faith of the church. The Society encourages proposals from all the Episcopal students, faculty, staff, and families of ATS accredited seminary communities. Grants are awarded for one year and require a project report at completion.

Evangelical Lutheran Church in America

Members of ELCA congregations who are enrolled in a doctoral program for advanced theological study may apply directly to the ELCA for financial aid through the ELCA's Educational Grant Program (EGP). Grants are given to Ph.D., Th.D., and Ed.D. candidates in theological study appropriate to seminary teaching. The program is open to both lay and ordained ELCA members.
Grants up to $4,000per individual, per year are awarded. Recipients may apply annually to renew their grants for a total of four years of support, but renewals are not guaranteed. In addition, a fifth year of support up to $2,000 may be awarded as a dissertation grant. Annual grants are awarded based on academic calendar years from July 1 through June 30. Applications must be received before April 15 prior to the academic year for which the grant is sought. Awards will be announced to recipients in June, and recipients will receive their grants upon presentation of proof of registration, typically in September.
