A Place for Diversity
Princeton Seminary is committed to learning that is critically informed and contextually aware. This kind of learning requires an understanding of the Bible, church history, theology, and the theory and skills of practical ministry; it also requires an understanding of the changing world in which the church lives out its mission to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.
At Princeton you will learn from and with people from diverse cultures, races, and perspectives. Princeton Seminary welcomes students from thirty-eight denominations. Women make up almost half of the PTS student body, and the Seminary embraces a rich racial and ethnic diversity as a source of strength. The Seminary’s alumni/ae mirror the diversity of its students, with today approximately 460 African American, 90 Hispanic, 570 Asian/Pacific Islander, and 12 American Indian/Native American alumni/ae.
The Office of Multicultural Relations supports campus programs for cross-cultural experiences, such as dialogue forums and reading circles, and serves the needs of international students. The L.I.V.E. (Learning, Inclusion, Vitality, and Exploration) Symposium offers prospective students from diverse ethnic populations the opportunity to explore their vocation by meeting professors, attending classes, and participating in panel discussions.
