Choon-Leong Seow, the Henry Snyder Gehman Professor of Old
Testament Language and Literature, is a graduate of Princeton Seminary (M.Div.). The Old
Testaments wisdom literature holds a particular interest for him, in part because he
regards it as distinctive for the complete absence of the main themes found elsewhere in
the Old Testament. He views the wisdom literature as theologically significant because it
contains the Bibles life-centered theology. His forthcoming
works include a book titled The Social World of Ecclesiastes, which he worked on
during a sabbatical as a Henry Luce III Fellow in theology and a member at the Institute
for Advanced Study in Princeton, and commentaries on Daniel and Proverbs. In addition, he
is the coeditor of the Hebrew Dictionary Project. He is an ordained elder in the
Presbyterian Church (USA).
