| Ellen Charry is Princeton Theological Seminary’s Margaret W. Harmon Associate Professor of Systematic Theology. She earned both her M.A. in religion and the Ph.D. from Temple University, following an M.S.W. from Yeshiva University. Her interest is in the role of Christian practices and beliefs in the spiritual life. She teaches a Ph.D. seminar in patristic theology, often Augustine’s doctrine of God, and elective M.Div. courses including “Readings in Women Theologians,” “Inquiring after God,” the “Pastoral Function of Christian Doctrine,” “Theology and Film,” and “Jews and Judaism in Christian Scripture and Preaching.” She serves as an editor-at-large for The Christian Century and is immediate past editor of Theology Today. She was the Allan Richardson Fellow at Durham University in 2006, and is currently writing God and the Art of Happiness with assistance from the Evangelical Education Society of the Episcopal Church. |
