Princeton Seminary’s Spring Book Series to feature Jim Wallis, President and Executive Director of Sojourners/Call to Renewal
Princeton, NJ, March 27, 2008–As part of this spring’s “Meet the Author” book series, “Faith and the Church in the Third Millennium,” Princeton Theological Seminary’s Center of Continuing Education will welcome Jim Wallis, president and executive director of Sojourners/Call to Renewal and author of The Great Awakening: Reviving Faith and Politics in a Post-Religious Right America, to the Seminary on Thursday, April 10 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Erdman Center, 20 Library Place in Princeton.
In his latest book, Wallis addresses the question: What will it take to solve the biggest issues of our time: poverty, global warming and environmental degradation, terrorism, violence,
racism, human trafficking, healthcare, and education in a world where politicians are offering only blame and fear?
Wallis is a best-selling author, public theologian, preacher, speaker, activist, and international commentator on ethics and public life. His background includes involvement in the civil rights and antiwar movements as a student at Michigan State University. His commitment to social justice continued while he studied at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Illinois, where he and several other students started a small magazine and community with a Christian commitment, which as grown into a national faith-based organization for which he serves as president and executive director: Sojourners/Call to Renewal.
