Local Artist to Display Sketches in Art Show at Princeton Seminary’s Erdman Gallery

Princeton, NJ, March 24, 2006– Sergio Bonotto will display a collection of his sketches at Princeton Theological Seminary’s Erdman Art Gallery from April 10 to June 2. A World War II veteran, Bonotto began sketching the limited world he saw around him as an infantry rifleman. His war sketches won an award from General George C. Marshal in 1950, and were exhibited in the United States and in Turin, Italy, Bonotto’s hometown. He studied drawing at Princeton University and received an M.A. in engineering from Columbia University in New York, spending his working life as a chemist with Union Carbide. After retiring, Bonotto returned to drawing and watercolors. He learned to operate an offset press, and began a business selling note cards, which are available locally at college bookshops, Jordan’s Cards and Gifts in the Princeton Shopping Center, and The Papery of Princeton.

The Erdman Art Gallery is located in Erdman Hall, 20 Library Place, at the Center of Continuing Education at Princeton Theological Seminary.Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Sunday, 2:30 to 9:00 p.m. A reception for the artist will be held on Monday, April 10, from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. in the Erdman Art Gallery.For more information please contact the Center of Continuing Education at 609.497.7990.
