New Jersey Artist Jim Fuess to Exhibit at Princeton Seminary’s Erdman Art Gallery.jpg)
Princeton, NJ, December 12, 2006–New Jersey artist Jim Fuess will present an exhibit titled “Rage, Terror, Flowers, and Sunsets” at Princeton Theological Seminary’s Erdman Art Gallery, beginning on Monday, January 8 and running through Friday, February 16. Fuess works with liquid acrylic paint on canvas. He considers most of his work to be abstract, but one can see recognizable forms, faces, gestures, and movements within each piece. He strives for grace and fluidity, movement and balance, and believes that “beauty can be an artistic goal.”
Divided into two sections, his “Rage and Terror” works deal with his grief and despair over current world events, while his “Flowers and Sunsets” works remind him that there is still beauty in the world. Fuess has had hundreds of group shows and more than forty solo shows over his thirty-two-year artistic career. He is the chairperson and founder of the New Art Group, a collective of New Jersey artists formed from the members of the Visual Arts Committee of the Watchung Arts Center.
He earned both a Master of Arts degree in comparative religions and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Goddard College. To view his artwork, visit www.jimfuessart.com.
