Local Artist Presents Jesus’ Teaching through Sculptures at Princeton Seminary
Princeton, NJ, October 17, 2006–Sculptor Charles McCollough will present an exhibit titled “The Art of the Parables” at Princeton Theological Seminary’s Erdman Art Gallery, beginning on Monday, October 30 and running through Friday, December 8. As both an artist and a theologian, McCollough typically works with spiritual elements through wood, clay, and bronze. He imagines how the word pictures of Jesus’ narratives give us “in-sight” as well as sound.
McCollough earned a doctorate in theology from Drew University, studied sculpture at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and at the Johnson Atelier in New Jersey, and now travels throughout the Northeast, exhibiting his art. He works out of his studio and home in Hopewell, New Jersey.
An artist’s reception and talk will be held on Monday, October 30 from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. in the Erdman Art Gallery.
The Erdman Art Gallery is in its seventh year of presenting local and national artists for the benefit of the community. The gallery is located in Erdman Hall, 20 Library Place, at the Center of Continuing Education at Princeton Theological Seminary. Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Sunday, 2:30 to 9:00 p.m. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
