Communication for Volunteer Management

Tuesday, November 28, 2006
9:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

This course is being offered by the Continuing Education and Professional Development Program of the School of Social Work at Rutgers University, and is offered at its Livingston Campus in Piscataway, New Jersey.

Location: Rutgers University Livingston Campus, Building 4161, Piscataway, NJ

As a volunteer manager, your ability to communicate effectively is crucial because of the limited time you spend with volunteers. Communication is usually thought of as message sending. In this workshop, emphasis is placed on the people process rather than the language process. You will learn how to make your communication more effective by focusing on the aspirations, values, and motivations of those with whom you communicate.

Instructor: Betty Woehr, B.S.

Audience: Social workers and ministry professionals

Registration Fee: $85
Social Workers:
Continuing Education Hours (C.E.H.): 5 Clinical (granted by Rutgers University)
Ministry Professionals:
