Welcome! As you will see in this website, the Biblical Studies Department
at Princeton Theological Seminary is a lively and engaging place for study
and learning. Our program has a strong
basis in the biblical languages and the exegesis of biblical texts, but our
interests extend to include patristics, literary theory, and systematics. The resources available include our diverse
faculty and graduate students, as well as numerous visiting lecturers and
researchers working in neighboring institutions. And, of course, the Seminary libraries offer both extensive holdings and an encouraging staff.
The faculty members are engaged in a wide array of endeavors, including
individual research, leadership in scholarly societies, editing journals and
series, and ecclesial service. These extensive activities do not detract from
our main work of teaching–both at the level of the Masters Degrees and at
the doctoral level. With this wealth
of resources to draw on and activities to enrich us, we learn from each other
and we enjoy each other.
