Assistant
Professor of New Testament. M.Div., M.A., Trinity Evangelical Divinity School;
Ph.D., Duke University. His interests include the interpretation of Scripture in
the Second Temple period and early Christianity, the history of early Judaism,
Pauline literature, and the book of Hebrews.
Wagner's publications include Heralds
of the Good News: Paul and Isaiah "In Concert" in the Letter to the
Romans (NovTSupp 101, 2002) and articles in JBL,
NTS, and CBQ. He is currently writing a commentary on the Old Greek version
of Isaiah for Brill's Septuagint Commentary Series and a monograph on the use of
the Old Testament in the New for the New Testament Library (WJK). Wagner serves
on the steering committee of the Pauline Soteriology Consultation of the Society
of Biblical Literature and is the editor of the SBL Resources for
Biblical Studies: New Testament Series.
